Session COVERAGE & investment

Your investment is split into two portions.  The first is known as your “Session Fee”, consisting of a pre-session meeting, coverage for your session, and editing of your images.  The second, which is separate, encompasses the collections and individual products you will select to immortalize your legacy.  This unique set up allows you to choose what you truly want out of your experience.

The most important aspect of a session fee is that is acts as a retainer for your photoshoot on my calendar.  No one else can have that date or time slot.  As such, during this time nothing else matters than you and the photos we are creating.

Together  we review the goals and vision you want to achieve with your photoshoot.  From location selection to wardrobe consultation, all details are put in place and decided upon with my help. Every session is curated with  your personal goal in mind.

Included for every client is a guide with a set of recommendations and suggestions for what to wear during your photography session. The purpose is to help you select clothing that will complement the theme and vision of your photoshoot while also enhancing your personal style.

Your session includes up to 90 minutes of photoshoot coverage.  Within this time you will be guided through prompts that intend to help bring out your natural self.  This combination further adds to your unique experience and one-of-a-kind results. Some sessions, like Belly and Baby, can be longer, around 2 hours or more. The needs of your session will be discussed beforehand.

Each image provided has been carefully selected and edited for style and expression of emotion. No photo is included without thought – like a frame in the movie that shows the whole story of your photo session. You receive a private viewing of your entire gallery, and make your selections based on your collection choice.

I offer design support to help you perfect your print products. I can work to create a customized layout and design that fits your unique story. Alternatively, you can also design with pre-made templates for a faster and easier option. I want to ensure that you get the best possible outcome from your print product order.

I start every client relationship with a quick 15-minute phone call to chat with you to learn more about you and your specific needs for photography. No obligation whatsoever at this free consult, as I want to ensure we are the right fit for each other and that I can meet your needs.

SCHEDULE & SIGN

Once we've decided on a time and date and officially put your session on the books, I'll send you your contract and invoice for review and completion. I prefer to walk you through this step, so this sometimes gets completed during our consultation, adding 45 minutes to the meeting.

GETTING READY

You'll be sent a Getting Ready Guide that will walk you through everything, choosing outfits to strategies for getting kids to cooperate. A few days before our session is scheduled, I'll send you a message to confirm our time and location. At that point, if the forecast is questionable or someone seems to be coming down with the flu, we can talk about our rescheduling options. Otherwise, that's the perfect time to ask any last-minute questions a we haven't discussed yet.

DAY OF
YOUR SESSION
WE MAKE MAGIC

The day of the session, please block off 2-2.5 hours (3-3.5 hours for a newborn). Typically we're done within 90 minutes or so, but I don't charge by the hour, so if there's some kind of wardrobe malfunction or child meltdown, I like to stay flexible. If a parent has to leave for an important business meeting but the rest of the family is still available, that's okay! Just let me know ahead of time so I can focus on getting that parent in the frame more while they're still available.

LATER
AFTER YOUR SESSION
TIME FOR PRESENTS!

This is the fun part! Within just 2-3 weeks of your session, you'll receive an email from me with a link to a slideshow that includes all of your fully-edited images. Once you've had a chance to see them and marvel for a bit, you'll let me know which collection you want to purchase. After that, you'll have a full month to select the specific digital files and print items you want to use to fill that collection... it's a no-pressure situation! 

what is a session fee?

A session fee is required to secure your spot on my calendar and cover the costs associated with providing you with the best photography experience possible. Your session fee ensures that I can provide you with the quality and attention to detail that you deserve. By investing in your session fee first, you are showing your commitment to preserving beautiful memories. You’ll find that my work is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive in the area, but it does represent one of the best values.

SPECIAL INCLUSIONS

Some sessions have additional services included due to their special nature. 

Belly Sessions are limited to just photos of the birthing person and their partner.  Baby Sessions are for just the birthing person and their newborn.  Since these sessions are meant to focus on the birthing person (and newborn) only, the fee includes coverage of a hair and make up artist. This will be scheduled for up to 90 minutes before your session. 

All other combinations and additions of family members requires a Family Session. These sessions include coverage for up to four persons, age 0 months and above. Hair and make up is not included, but can be added.

It’s important to note that the session fee is separate from the cost of your final products, such as prints or digital images. I believe in transparency and will work with you to create a customized package that fits your needs and budget. We also discuss payment plans and their expectations during our consultation.
